Bring a burst of colour to your autumn garden with these stunning patio chrysanthemums. Expect a generous display of domed blooms in shades of yellow, pink, and ruby red from late August through early November, making them perfect for brightening your garden. With their sturdy stems and long-lasting flowers, they're also ideal for creating elegant indoor arrangements as cut flowers.
To nurture these hardy chrysanthemum plants, pot them up and keep them in a bright, frost-free environment. Once they reach 15cm in height, pinch off the top 5cm of each stem to encourage a bushier shape and more abundant flowering. After the last frost, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days before planting in borders and containers with fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny spot.
Water regularly until fully established. In late autumn, protect the plant crowns with a deep mulch layer for winter. Leave the flowered stems until spring to provide additional winter protection.
