- Produces vibrant orange blooms throughout summer
- Grows and spreads up to 400cm when fully established
- Suits sunny, well-drained soil
This stunning climber, Campsis x Tagliabuana ‘Indian Summer’, boasts vibrant orange blooms amidst lush green foliage, creating a spectacular summer display. A non-invasive variety, it thrives in a sheltered garden spot, providing an abundance of colour throughout the season.
For optimal flowering, position against a warm, sunny wall, planting in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Alternatively, cultivate in patio containers using soil-based compost such as John Innes No.2, incorporating extra grit for enhanced drainage. Once established, Trumpet Vine plants exhibit excellent drought resistance.
Upon planting, prune all stems back to 15cm (6") from the ground to encourage vigorous new growth. Train the strongest new shoots, removing any weaker ones. After 2 to 3 years, once a framework is established, prune back side shoots to within 2 or 3 shoots of the main stems during late winter.
