- Produces bright orange blooms
- Features green lush foliage
- Thrives in sunny and sheltered spaces
This climber showcases bright orange blooms amidst lush green foliage, ensuring a vibrant display throughout the summer months. For optimal performance, position in a sheltered garden spot. A non-invasive variety, this gorgeous climber will be fantastic in summer displays. While fully hardy, Campsis thrive best against a warm, sunny wall, encouraging abundant flowering. Plant in moist, well-drained soil within a sunny location. Alternatively, cultivate in patio containers using a soil-based compost like John Innes No.2, enhanced with extra grit for improved drainage. Once established in the border, Trumpet Vine plants exhibit drought resistance.
Upon planting, prune all stems back to 15cm (6") from the ground to encourage vigorous new growth. Train the strongest new shoots and remove any weaker ones. After 2 to 3 years, once a framework is established, prune back sideshoots to within 2 or 3 shoots of the main stems during late winter.
