Thompson and Morgan Buxus Sempervivum Ball Plant Pot 23cm

An excellent shrub for topiary, Buxus sempervirens boasts dense, small foliage that’s easily clipped to shape. Well-loved for its ability to withstand regular pruning, Box plants provide low-maintenance structure to the garden throughout the year. While slow-growing Buxus sempervirens can take years of clipping to form a topiary shape, this plant is supplied established and ready-clipped into a neat ball, so you can enjoy instant structure without the fuss! Buxus balls are versatile and look great planted in mixed borders among relaxed flowers, in contemporary or formal gardens, or in patio containers for easy, year-round interest.
Grow Box plants in any fertile, moist, well-drained garden soil, or in containers of soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. Choose a position in sun or partial shade; on dry soils, Buxus sempervirens will prefer a partially shaded spot. Improve poor, dry soils by incorporating plenty of well-rotted manure prior to planting. Water Box plants well until fully established. Box plants are relatively low maintenance but will require trimming once a year in mid-summer to maintain a neat shape. Choose an overcast day to avoid sun scorch. Feed and mulch Buxus sempervirens plants after pruning to promote healthy new growth.
