Renowned for its resilience to regular clipping, these Box plants offer year-round, low-maintenance structure to the garden. While Buxus sempervirens is slow-growing and can take years to form a topiary shape, this plant arrives established, neatly clipped into a ball, ready for instant impact.
Supplied complete with patio containers, they provide easy, year-round interest on your patio. Plant Box in any fertile, moist, well-drained garden soil, or use soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3 in containers. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded spot; in drier soils, semi-shade is preferable. Enhance poor, dry soils by incorporating well-rotted manure before planting. Water well until established.
Box plants are relatively low maintenance but benefit from annual trimming in mid-summer to maintain their shape. Choose an overcast day to avoid sun scorch. Feed and mulch after pruning to encourage healthy new growth.
