Product Information

  • Compact shrub perfect for small space
  • Attracts bees and butterflies
  • Thrives in partial to full shade

Enjoy the Buddleja Blue Chip in your garden! A superb dwarf shrub, perfect for smaller gardens. Its neat, compact form makes it ideal for filling gaps in mixed borders or displaying on the patio in a container. Unlike traditional cultivars, ‘Blue Chip’ stays small and won’t seed itself around the garden, remaining exactly where you plant it. Throughout summer, it’s smothered in dense clusters of blue flowers, attracting bees and butterflies – ideal for wildlife and cottage gardens. This hardy, resilient and reliable shrub thrives in most conditions, tolerating poor soil and exposed sites.
Plant Butterfly bushes in garden borders in any moist, well-drained garden soil in full sun or partial shade. For containers, use soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3, and feed and water regularly. Plants in borders need little attention. Prune in spring to a low framework of 3 or 4 buds from the base of the plant. Deadhead faded flowers to prolong blooming. Position: full sun and partial shade. Height and spread: Up to 60cm when fully established. Supplied as 2 x Buddleja Blue Chip Plants in 3 Litre Pots. Images are for guidance only; growing conditions may vary results. Image may vary due to seasonal changes.
