The Blackcurrant Ribes Ben Connan is a compact bush variety renowned for its abundant yields of large, glossy black fruits boasting a rich and intense flavour. Expect a generous harvest from July onwards, with fruiting extending over a prolonged period. From its second year, each plant can yield over 3.5kg of fruit annually, continuing for up to a decade. This blackcurrant exhibits exceptional resistance to mildew and demonstrates good tolerance to frost.
Reaching a height and spread of 120cm (47"), these are supplied as established, robust 1-year-old bareroot plants, pre-pruned for optimal establishment upon planting. Cropping is estimated to begin within 16-20 months of planting (4-8 months for premium bareroot or 3L potted plant), with best yields expected within the same timeframe.
