Product Information

  • Thornless upright canes suit patios and small gardens
  • Heavy cropper yields up to 3.6kg of fruit per plant
  • Container-grown plants in 2L pots offer a strong start

Dive into a green paradise with the Thompson and Morgan Blackberry Loch Ness Plant Pot 2L 2 Pack. Blackberry 'Loch Ness' delights with its thornless, upright canes and generous crops of glossy, flavourful fruit, making it a joy for gardeners with patios or smaller spaces. Producing up to 3.6kg of berries per plant from mid-August until the first frosts, this compact variety is easy to manage and harvest, thanks to its lack of thorns and self-fertile nature. Stronger container-grown plants offer a robust start, thriving in sunny, sheltered spots with fertile, free-draining soil, and are perfect for fresh eating or home baking. Simply train onto supports, keep well-watered, and enjoy a rewarding late-summer to autumn harvest. How to Grow: Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with fertile, free-draining soil. Train the thornless stems onto wires or trellis supports. Keep plants well watered during establishment and apply a mulch in spring to retain moisture. After cropping, prune back fruiting canes to ground level and tie in the new growth. Netting is recommended to protect ripening fruits from birds. Self-fertile and hardy, Loch Ness is both practical and rewarding. Height: 2m (6'). Spread: 2.5m (8'). Time to cropping: 16–20 months. Time to best yields: 28–32 months. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes, for example, deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months. Decorative pots are not supplied.
