Ideal for hanging baskets and containers, this compact begonia variety is delightfully easy to grow. Expect a profusion of uniquely shaped, large double flowers in a gorgeous salmon pink, playfully flecked with gold and boasting striking orange centres. These blooms create a stunning display from June through September.
Begonia plugs are suitable for planting directly into flower pouches, though for baskets, window boxes, pots, and beds, potting them on first is preferable. Nurture them in bright, frost-free conditions to encourage growth. Once the plants have increased in size, transplant them into their final containers. After the last frost, acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions over a week to ten days before positioning them permanently.
Select a sunny or semi-shaded location sheltered from strong winds. Throughout the growing season, feed and water frequently, being careful not to over-water, as this can cause flower buds to drop. Regularly deadhead faded flowers to prolong the flowering period and stimulate further blooms.
