- Crisp, juicy Braeburn apples, early crop
- Dwarf tree ideal for patios and small gardens
- Stores up to 4 months after October harvest
An easy-to-grow variety, transform your space with Britain's favourite eating apple, the Braeburn. This variety produces huge crops of smooth-skinned, bi-coloured, crisp and juicy fruits. Cropping early from a young age, these apples can be harvested in October and stored for up to 4 months.
Plant your apple trees in any well-drained soil, ensuring they enjoy a sheltered, sunny position. Before planting, enrich the planting hole with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, and drive a stake into the ground to provide support. Staking after planting risks damage to the root ball, so do this beforehand. Plant the fruit trees at their original soil level, firming them securely into the ground. Use a tree tie to fasten the tree to the stake and water well.
Fruit trees struggle with weed competition, so keep the area within a 30cm radius of the tree's base clear of weeds and grass. In spring, while the ground is moist, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the base, being careful not to mound it against the stem. This helps retain moisture throughout the summer. During particularly dry spells, ensure you feed and water your apple trees.
