Thompson and Morgan Anemone Lord Lieutenant Planting Bulb 20 Pack

Brighten borders and containers with the deep violet-blue double blooms of the Thompson and Morgan Anemone Lord Lieutenant Planting Bulb 20 Pack that create a striking summer display, as anemone coronaria 'Lord Lieutenant' delights with its large flowers and finely cut foliage. You'll enjoy sturdy stems rising up to 30cm, making them perfect for patio pots or as fresh cut flowers in bouquets. Soak the bulbs overnight, plant them in full sun with well-drained soil and watch as they return year after year from late spring through summer. Each pack includes 20 bulbs and comes with clear growing and care instructions, so you'll find it easy to add a vibrant splash of colour to your garden. Plant this compact variety in autumn for late spring flowers. Suitable for patio pots and the front of borders on free-draining soils. Prior to planting, anemone bulbs should be soaked in water overnight. Choose a position in full sun on light, sandy, well-drained soil, and plant them in groups at a depth of five centimetres. Anemone bulbs require a dry, dormant period in summer when the foliage begins to die back after flowering in early summer. Do not water them during this period. In autumn, apply a dry mulch of leaf mould or chipped bark to protect the bulbs from winter wet. Caution: The sap of Anemone coronaria is an irritant to the skin and eyes and harmful if eaten.
