ProWarm BACKER-PRO insulation boards are your ideal solution for superior waterproofing and heat insulation in underfloor heating and tiling projects. These high-quality extruded polystyrene panels, reinforced with fibreglass mesh on both sides, are perfectly suited for use with underfloor heating cables and mats (though unsuitable for underwood systems). Their durable, waterproof surface provides a secure foundation for wall or floor tiles, ensuring lasting performance and protection against moisture.
With an excellent thermal conductivity of 0.033 W/mK, these boards significantly boost underfloor heating efficiency, leading to faster heat-up times and lower running costs. They also offer impressive sound insulation, creating a quieter living space.
Available in a range of thicknesses – 6mm, 10mm, 12.5mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 50mm – they cater to diverse installation needs. Installation is straightforward; the boards are easily cut with a knife, and are suitable for both floor and wall applications. The boards exhibit excellent dimensional stability, maintaining their integrity even in damp environments.
Installation on concrete subfloors requires Ultra flexible tile adhesive and a suitable primer. For wooden subfloors, use Ultra flexible tile adhesive with ProWarm insulation fixing packs or suitable screws and washers at approximately 300mm centres (around 15 fixings per board).
