Difficulty: Medium

Fitting a shower cubicle is a reasonably straightforward job requiring two people. All installations will be different so these instructions should only be used as a general guide. Please always refer to the manufacturers instructions. If you're in any doubt about how to carry out any of the steps, please seek professional advice.

Step 1: Assemble the cubicle

Assemble the cubicle according to the manufacturerís instructions.

Step 2: Lift the cubicle into position

With help from another person, lift the assembled cubicle into position on the tray.

Step 3: Ensure the wall rails are vertical

With your spirit level, ensure that the cubicle wall rails are perfectly vertical and that the bottom rail of the enclosure is properly positioned.

Step 4: Mark the fixing points on the wall rails

Mark the wall through the pre-drilled fixing points on the wall rails.

Step 5: Lift the cubicle out of position

With help, lift the cubicle out of position and support it to stop it falling.

Step 6: Drill holes for the screws

Check there aren't any pipes or cables then drill holes for the screws using a 6mm masonry bit. Make sure all drilling is done before using any silicone and if you're drilling through tiles put some masking tape over the spot you're about to drill, to prevent the tile from cracking.

Step 7: Insert wall plugs

Insert the wall plugs, making sure they're inserted just past the tiles surface, to prevent the tile from cracking when the screw goes in.

Step 8: Seal between the cubicle & wall

Squeeze a vertical line of sealant behind the wall rails, to create a seal between them and the wall.

Step 9: Fix cubicle to the wall

With help, put the cubicle back into its final position and screw it to the wall.

Step 10: Seal the outside of the cubicle

Use a silicone sealant to seal the outside of the cubicle where it meets the walls, as well as the tray/floor. Do not seal the inside.
