Product Information

Sweet, juicy and delicious, strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa) are easy and rewarding to grow. Make your own strawberry patch if you have room, or just add a few plants to the front of a border. Alternatively, they grow well in containers and even hanging baskets.
Some varieties are summer fruiting, whilst others are ever bearers (produce small flushes of fruit from early summer till first autumn frosts. Ever bearers produce smaller fruit, but you get fruit over a longer period, but produce less runners. Whilst summer fruiting strawberries, produce a lot of large fruit in a few weeks, but do produce lots of runners. All this sweet fruit is ideal for deserts and jam making or eating fresh from the plant.

Additional Information

Plant anytime in unfrozen soil, 40cm apart in the garden or containers. Keep well watered and feed weekly when flowers appear. Protect fruit from bird and slug damage. Strawberry plants are best replaced every 3 years for higher yields.
