Instead of giving your plants a light sprinkle of water every day, you can give them a thorough soak at the roots once or twice a week. Mulching in spring also means you don’t have to water your plants as often.

How often do I need to water my plants?

Always ensure you’re watering based on the soil rather than the calendar. Before grabbing your watering can, stick your finger into the soil. If it’s dry, give it a long, slow drink. If it’s damp, then leave it alone. Watering in the morning is preferred as it gives your plants a fuel tank for the heat of the day.
