Product Information

  • Blooms from July to September
  • Great for attracting bees and butterflies
  • Perfect for cut flower displays within the home

Echinacea presents striking blooms from July to September, showcasing petals that radiate outwards from a deep-brown central cone. These tall-stemmed flowers are ideal for creating cut flower displays within the home and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies, making them a superb choice for cottage and wildlife gardens.
To nurture Echinacea, begin by potting the plants and ensuring their growth occurs in frost-free conditions until they are robust enough for outdoor transplanting. Over a period of seven to ten days, gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting them in garden borders. Echinacea flourishes in sunny or semi-shaded locations with consistently moist, well-drained soil. These plants thrive in deep, fertile soil, so enriching the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting is beneficial.
During the growing season, regular feeding and watering are crucial until the plants are fully established. To promote further blooms, deadhead any faded flowers. In autumn, cut back the faded flower stems and apply a layer of well-rotted manure as mulch around the plant's base. Should overcrowding occur, divide the plants either in autumn or spring to maintain healthy growth.
Please remember that the images are intended as a guide to the expected results upon maturity, and actual results may vary according to specific growing conditions. The images may also depict seasonal variations, such as the natural leaf loss experienced by deciduous plants during colder months.
