Product Information

Ronseal's Decking Protector protects decks by preventing water from soaking in, avoiding damage caused through swelling and splitting. It's wax enriched; making it highly waterproof which helps to prevent this damage from happening. It also protects from the sun, preventing greying and keeping your deck looking great for longer.

Ensure decking is free from all dust, dirt, oil, mildew, algae and other contaminants. Remove all existing loose, flaking or peeling coatings. For best results clean surfaces thoroughly with Ronseal Decking Cleaner and Reviver prior to application and allow to dry thoroughly. Ensure all cleaning residues are completely washed away to maximise the performance. To prepare new wood, let it weather naturally for around six months before oiling it. This ensures that any pre-treatment has eroded giving a fresh surface to apply the oil. Once the wood has weathered, use a scrubbing brush and some decking cleaner to completely remove traces of the pre-treatment. Rinse it thoroughly with water, ideally using a pressure washer. To make sure you’ve removed all the pre-treatment, throw some water on the decking. If it beads, you need to keep scrubbing and cleaning. Always test on an inconspicuous area before starting general application to ensure the desired result will be achieved.
