Products

If you're struggling without air conditioning in warmer weather, don't sweat it! An air cooler is an effective and affordable portable air conditioning solution that can be easily stored away over the winter months.

    Types of air cooler

Many of our portable air coolers boast a handy 3-in-1 function. This means that they can be used as a dehumidifier, air conditioner, or cooling fan. Additionally, you can choose between multiple speed settings to ensure that the temperature of your home is exactly as you like it.

How does an air cooler work

Air coolers use an evaporative cooling process to cool air, which is far less complex and energy-intensive than the refrigerating process carried out by a stand-alone air conditioning unit. An air cooler consists of a water tank, absorbent sheet, and a fan. The sheet soaks up water from the tank, which then evaporates into the surrounding air and cools it, before being circulated around the room by the fan element.

Is it ok to sleep with an air cooler on?

Yes, sleeping with your air cooler on is safe! However, you’ll want to monitor your unit closely before drifting off to sleep as the ideal temperature should be between 25 to 27 degrees. Anything below this, you risk waking up with sore muscles as cool air can tense muscles up if it directly hits your face and neck, for example.

How to look after an air cooler

Maintaining your air cooler is simple. Ensure that the water is fresh by refilling the water tank daily. Additionally, the absorbent sheet may need cleaning from time to time. This can be done by washing gently with detergent and rinsing thoroughly before leaving to dry.

With so many options to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start when choosing the best fans and air conditioning for you. For a few handy tips, take a look at our air conditioning buying guide.
