It’s time to make way for your coats, boots and scarves by getting organised and storing away anything you won’t need until spring. From baskets and boxes to coat hooks and drawer dividers you can create a place for everything with these ideas for smart storage.
Organisers & boxes
As bulky winter clothing gets daily use it’s important to maximise storage. Organise your wardrobe with additional rails, baskets and boxes. Plastic organiser trays can store small jewellery in a drawer and make-up and nail polish can be put in a bathroom caddy or something similar. Store summer clothing in the loft in vacuum storage bags and lidded, stackable boxes.

Baskets with internal file dividers are great for organising paperwork and can be stored in cube storage bookcases to utilise wall space.
Organising the kitchen
In the kitchen, store away your barbecue equipment until next spring. Measure inside cabinets and work out what combination of plastic storage boxes will make best use of the space. Use drawer dividers to organise utensils and hang rails and shallow shelves to the backs of wall cabinet doors.
In the hallway use boxes on high-level shelves organised into gloves, scarves and hats. Put coat hooks and a bench seat with shoe storage underneath.
