Behold the remarkable RHS AGM Australian Tree Fern, a perennial wonder that infuses any garden with dramatic flair! Admire its long, finely cut fronds, reaching up to 1.5m, creating a captivating display. Native to Australia, the Dicksonia antarctica flourishes in the UK's mild, wet climate, making it ideal for shaded spots. Its slow growth, forming just 3cm of trunk annually and ultimately reaching around 4m, ensures it remains a stunning focal point for years. Awarded a RHS Award of Garden Merit, this tree fern is a testament to its exceptional qualities and landscape-enhancing abilities. Perfect for woodland settings, exotic borders, or as a striking specimen, the Australian Tree Fern is sure to impress with its unique beauty and resilience. Supplied as 2x 2 Litre Potted Plant.
How to Grow: Plant in dappled or semi-shade, ideally in a woodland situation. Temperature: Hardy to -5°C, but protect during particularly cold winters by insulating the crown and stem with straw and horticultural fleece. Watering: Maintain consistently moist soil; water the trunk daily during hot weather. Feeding: From the second year after planting, apply liquid fertiliser, spraying it onto the crown and stem regularly.
