A firm favourite for cottage gardens, Sweet William 'Messenger' offers the dual benefit of attracting bees and butterflies whilst providing beautiful cut flowers for your home. This biennial variety flourishes in cottage garden borders, beds, and containers, releasing a delightful perfume as you stroll through the garden or arrange the blooms indoors. Regular deadheading encourages a significantly greater abundance of flower heads.
Ideally, Sweet Williams should be started in pots, allowing them to develop a strong root system before transplanting outdoors. Acclimatise the plants for 7-10 days before planting them in a sunny location.
