- Colour-changing fruit from white to red
- Sweet peppers with excellent productivity
- Resists tomato mosaic virus
Bring a kaleidoscope of colour to your kitchen garden with these remarkable colour-changing peppers! Beginning as a pristine white, the fruits transition through shades of yellow, apricot, and orange before finally ripening to a deep, vibrant red. Each stage offers a uniquely sweet flavour, ready for harvest whenever you desire. Expect superior yields and larger fruits compared to Gypsy Bell peppers, coupled with robust resistance to Tomato Mosaic Virus. Cultivate these peppers in a greenhouse or polytunnel for optimal results, or choose a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors.
Start young plants in pots, nurturing them in warm, frost-free conditions. Once established, transplant into grow bags, containers, or prepared beds with fertile, well-drained soil. If planting outdoors, gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before transplanting, spacing them 50cm (20") apart. Consistent feeding and watering are essential to prevent flower bud drop. Taller varieties may benefit from staking. A generous mulch of organic matter will help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. In greenhouse environments, maintain high humidity by damping down pathways daily.
Harvest your peppers at any stage – green for a slightly sharper taste, or allow them to mature to red or yellow for maximum sweetness. Use secateurs for a clean cut. Remember to harvest outdoor-grown peppers before the first frost arrives.
