This exotic ornamental houseplant features a rosette of glossy, lance-shaped leaves and a robust stalk topped with a decorative (though inedible) pink pineapple. They'll lift your spirits, even in the darkest of winter months, adding a tropical touch to your home.
Ideally situated on a bright windowsill near a south-facing window, these plants thrive in a warm, sunny spot, away from cold draughts, with a minimum temperature of 15°C (59°F). While they enjoy bright light, be careful to avoid leaf scorch from harsh direct sunlight. When repotting becomes necessary, use a well-drained, neutral or slightly acidic orchid compost. Water sparingly in winter, allowing the compost to become barely moist, and avoid draughts.
Height and spread reach up to 30cm when fully established. Position in sun or semi-shade.
