Product Information
Blackberries (Brambles) are available in an array of varieties with sweeter and more richly flavoured fruits than wild brambles. Some are even thornless!
The fruit can be eaten fresh or used in jams and pies. Provide strong support as they can fruit for up to 20 years. The leaves on first year shoots are compound and palmate with 5-7 leaflets, in the second year lateral shoots develop which bear the flowers. Leaves on these lateral shoots are smaller, often having 3-5 leaflets. They flower form late spring to early summer and the blooms are white or very pale pink in colour.
Although some blackberries can produce fruit and seed without fertilisation, fertilisation may improve fruit and seed formation to a bigger & better crop of black glossy fruits.
- Large berries are produced
- Thornless varieties available
- Compact shape makes it a great choice for a smaller garden
- Heavy cropping variety
