Having searched for a suitable wall colour to blend with our new kitchen units we tried a test pot of Dulux Egyptian Cotton emulsion and were delighted to find it
was exactly what we wanted. It was easy to apply, provided a good finish and the colour is very restful. We used it in conjunction with Crown Ivory Cream matt emulsion. The two look very good together.

The colour is lovely, a good modern alternative to magnolia and coverage was good when applied by roller but patchy where a brush was used to cut in around ceiling, skirting ect. My concern is when I need to touch up unless I get a roller out every time I will end up with very patchy walls.

The paint was purchased for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted a paint that woul look good when painted on to thick backing paper and secondly I wanted a light colour to use in an entrance hall. The Dulux silk emulsion met both of those needs. The paint was easy to apply when using a brush around the edges and was easy to apply when using a roller. The combination of good application to a backing paper, a light colour and a slight sheen has produced a very appealing finish.

I found it difficult to get an evenly coloured coat with this paint - it seems to be a quite different formulation to previous Dulux emulsions. The can gave the brand as AkzonNobel, maybe that is the reason. With re-touching the end result is satisfactory, but required more work than I expected.
