Really bad stained ceiling with water, nicotine and cooking stains and it covered 1st time. Took 8 hours to put on as very thick but well worth the work.

my daughter and her friends had used felt tips and had covered the walls with pictures and writing. I had painted it white twice and then lilac and we could still see all the writing what a disaster.
So I BOUGHT stain stop wow IT WORKED IT COVERED ALL THE WRITING. It was sticky like gloss paint but it covered it all up.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FOR COVERING FELT TIP PENS GRAFITTI.

Good to apply. Did what it said on the tin. Plenty left for other water related emergencies

Rated 1 out of 5 by Watchful Eye Very difficult to apply. Horrid drip marks.
This paint is rather like a gloss or eggshell paint in handling. It is a liquid, rather than a gel like most modern emulsions, so it drips very easily. It is also extremely thick, so brushes and rollers get extremely heavily loaded.
Being so thick, it is extremely hard work to spread, making it almost impossible to avoid overapplying, unless you are treating small areas. For small water marks on a ceiling it was fantastic. For a much larger, 2 foot x 3 foot water mark on a wall, it was a nightmare. It was nearly impossible to spread the paint out over the stain, and the brushes got so heavily loaded, the paint would be over applied.
The result was an extremely thick layer of paint, practically like a layer of plaster, with lots of terrible drip marks. It also dries to form a skin very within 5-10 minutes, so by the time you see the drips, the paint is no longer spreadable.
Even fixing the problem afterwards was difficult. Like a gloss paint, it forms a skin and goes rubbery very quickly. However, the actual paint stays rubbery for weeks. Trying to sand the drip marks off once it had "dried" was another nightmare; the rubbery paint just clogged up the sandpaper, and just tore and puckered, leaving a complete and under disaster area.
The spray version of this, although more expensive, is much easier to apply, being a thin liquid which dries extremely quickly.

It is not easy to apply as it is a little thick but it does provide an excellent layer of protection. Also it helps cover up small cracks and blemishes on the surface before you apply the final clour. It does however provide a very good matt white finish so may not need any second colour.

The product worked brillitantly - but it was quite tough to apply being rather thicker than normal emulsion. Worth it though.
