When you're happy with your kitchen design and have chosen a unit style, you can now decide on your appliances. If space is limited, think about slimline options or counter-top models, or look for appliances that double up on tasks such as washer-dryers, fridge-freezers and microwaves with ovens. You can integrate most kitchen appliances into your scheme without having to add panel fronts. But you may want to choose appliances to complement your kitchen design.
The kind of oven, hob and hood you choose obviously depends on the look you want to achieve as well as your budget, but also on how you like to cook. You can mix and match appliances. Why not try an electric oven and a gas hob - that's pretty popular right now. Need more help? Whatever style you're after, from built in ovens to free standing cookers, there's plenty of information in our ovens buying guide. Remember, your gas appliances must be installed and maintained by professional Gas Safe registered engineers. If a gas appliance is being fitted in a building with different households -flats, for example - the regulations say it must have a flame failure safety device.
Kitchen sinks are one of the hardest-working items you'll use, but they can look fantastic as well as be functional! Choose from durable stainless steel, easy to clean ceramic and stylish granite. You've got a variety of size and shape options, including the standard single bowl with drainer, double bowls with double drainers and central half bowl sinks. For advice on choosing kitchen sink taps, read our taps buying guide.

With slimline, full size and counter-top models available, dishwashers are an option for even the smallest of kitchens. Position your dishwasher and washing machine near the sink to keep plumbing contained.
