Grow your own vegetables in July

In July there’s so much to harvest and in his latest video Adam encourages you to enjoy eating the fruit and vegetables you’ve grown. It’s time to lift potatoes, pick spinach and thin your beetroots through. Don’t share your fruit with the birds though – get Adam’s advice on protecting as much as you can, from apples and pears to cherries. Make sure your raspberries are well supported and remove the yellow leaves from strawberries to let light through. Adam gives his tips on cutting and drying herbs and explains how you can get a more intense flavour from rosemary and sage. General gardening jobs in July

July’s a great month to enjoy the fantastic scent of roses in your garden and in this month’s video Adam advises you to keep deadheading and feeding your roses all season. He also recommends deadheading herbaceous plants and giving them liquid feed. There are tips for repairing patches of your lawn, feeding pot plants and maintaining your pond or water feature. Adam reminds you to keep weeding your borders and suggests it’s the ideal time to show your timber products some TLC.
