Rated 5 out of 5 by safe as houses brilliant safe, worth the small extra cost.
after looking at a few safes on the internet and watching quite a few videos of them been broken into, I decided to go for this Yale safe with a cash rating of 1000 pounds, as the lower cost digital safes under £70-£80 seem very easy to crack. Its an entry level certified safe but from what I could see has a lot of the same features as the more expensive safes.
nice looking, clear to read blue lit panel, digital with back up keys, motorised locking/door opening etc and is just large enough to keep all my essentials. the compact version is way too small and isn't worth the £20 saving. I found it very easy to set up but if you struggle just watch some videos on the net.
its not a heavy safe at all and could easily be carried away so it definitely needs bolting down, mine will be buried in the wall and fixed using stronger bolts than the ones provided! then covered from view, this will make it even harder to access as the door is very flush fitting and with that being the only thing visible it would be difficult to force open. the safe was also really well packaged, and homebase staff very helpful.
I would definitely recommend, at the end of the day most safes can be broken into regardless of their price if given enough time or brute force, but if you put this in a concealed place bolt it down and make it as awkward as possible to remove, it might just save your valuables, its definitely better than a box under the bed :) .
