I used the Sandtex10 Year Primer Undercoat in conjunction with the 10 Year Exterior Satin Pure Brilliant White to repaint a pair of bespoke exterior timber, glazed french doors and frame with opening light above that I had installed in my Victorian house around 8 years ago. I had used the same spec Sandtex paint originally and this has lasted well, whatever the English weather has thrown at it. The satin finish has protected the wood beneath and has maintained its subtle lustre. I have been very impressed with the ease of application. The paint flows easily from the brush to leave a smooth finish with no marks and seemingly good depth. A careful rub down with fine finish paper was sufficient to key the surface of the original paint and I'd say that the job was almost a pleasure! With careful preparation I think it can well achieve its 10 year guarantee and in my case will contribute to enhancing the life of my 145 year old house, whilst being excellent value for money.

Very good adhesion to old surfaces as long as they are prepared (cleaned and sanded), used with a liquid gloss and the finish was very good, don't know how good the long term result will be.
Don't buy anymore than you need as once opened the shelf life is not good. I had a small amount left in the tin, and it was unusable after only eight weeks.

Used on a warm day touch drying time about 2 hours. Whilst a little expensive it does seem to provide a suitable surface for top coats and is a must if using a good quality liquid gloss to finish.

This worked really well, good sized pot for what I needed and looked lovely on it's own before I put the overcoat on.
