Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish Medium Oak- 2.5L is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid like the plague Yes, the earlier review is correct and this is orange/red rather than mid oak. But worse, tiny flakes of all three layers of varnish started to break away from the floor just days after I finished the project. I contacted Ronseal and they said I'd left the first coat to dry for TOO LONG. It says on the tin to allow it to dry for 2 hours, but it fails to give any warning that you shouldn't leave it a few hours longer, as I did. Now all they'll suggest is that I re-sand and re-varnish the entire floor. Thanks, Ronseal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colour is Fine Although worried by the previous negative review of the colour we took the plunge and ordered 2.5L.. Coverage was excellent and the 2.5L went a long way with 3 coats.Easy to put on and a smooth finish. The colour was perfect for our Georgian House. It is not at all orange but a beautiful rich brown. It gives the impression of oak and is perfect for a large room which we didn't want too dark. We would thoroughly recommend the product and loved the colour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Colour problem The colour in no way reflects what is indicated on the tin. It is practically orange/red. We wondered if the tin had been mislabelled. This is expensive compared to other similar products so one would expect an accurate colour match to the label, Why doesn't varnish come in handy tester pots like paint - it would save so much grief.
