Good simple cost effective starter bed for your garden.
Easy to put up
Would recommend for a simple patch, if needing for more creative garden, would recommend better quality wood

Easy to assemble, Cub Scouts managed with a little guidance.
Would have been better with some central pegs on the long sides too, for extra support
Time will tell if it is sturdy enough

If you need a raised bed but don't have the time to make one with better materials or can't afford a better quality alternative this product will suffice for a season or two.

I bought this item to go with the others purchased last year only to find out it was of inferior quality and smaller.

I bought two of these to put one on top of the other and make a deeper bed. One of the corner posts was missing, but I used a metal bracket in its place. Apart from the warping on two of the boards, all was well.
I would also add how helpful one of Homebase's younger staff was. He helped me find the beds which were not outside with the other wooden products, he then loaded my compost, reminding me of the special 4 for 3 offer, loaded the beds, took the trolley to the checkout, and then wheeled it to my car and loaded it. Lovely young man made all the difference. Hope for the future!!

I bought 3 when the price was reduced to add to the raised beds at my allotment (I built these myself). For the price I bought them I know I could not have bought the timber myself for less, however at the full price, I would have bought the timber, it would have been cheaper with only a little more work.
The beds themselves are actually better than the ones I made myself as they are deeper and the wood is better quality. The ones I made myself I didn't get to choose the actual boards i got because I had to get them delivered as they were 2m long, so they were a bit warped. The boards in the 3 beds I bought from Homebase were much better and straighter, plus the corner posts were already made...it's quite tricky to make your own.
My only criticism of the Homebase raised bed that as a kit it would have been better to have pre-drilled holes, if I'd paid full price for mine I would have been very disappointed by that omission. Having said all that, and reading the other reviews, I would like to say that I didn't have too much trouble assembling the beds on my own (though obviously I have previous experience having made my own from scratch) despite being a woman.

A basic bed, the side planks are slightly flimsy but it's fairly easy to assemble. I reinforced mine with extra screws at the corners. A fair product for the price.
