I have used this product several times and was amazed
when it removed oil paint from the woodwork in my work room. I am now using it on the skirting board in my hallway. However I totally agree with what it says on the tin.It is only suitable for wood that does not need to much sanding down.It does not work well on flaky or damaged woodwork.
Never the less it has saved me a lot of work.

Used this for a few projects around the home and it worked well on painted surfaces, although takes a lot of cleaning to remove the product. Thought I would try using it on my varnished/stained banister rail which had a few chips in it and it did remove the flaking surface right down to the wood. However, it became very messy and kept flaking more of the surface off than I wanted it to! All in all a good product without the dusty mess of traditional sandpaper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by She she Poor - NO better than cream cleaner
I thought this product was going to be the answer to my dreams and enable me to prep my door frames without the mess and moreover without going down too far on the layers of paint as I suspect given the age of the house there is a high chance of lead based paint beneath.
Having read the other reviews I thought I’d try this.... but I’m afraid it didn’t come anywhere near what I expected/hoped for. The other reviewer is quite correct, it is a de-glosser, it is certainly NOT a sanding product.
I did an experiment using a well known brand of cream cleaner (the type you clean the bath with!) and there was absolutely NO difference in either the appearance or the resulting texture, I dare say that those who have found this product ‘brilliant’ may very well have had the same results if they had used a cream cleaner at a fraction of the cost!!!
The pack states 'new improved' - if this is supposedly an improvement I would hate to have encountered its predecessor!!!!!
I shall be returning the product as frankly I believe that this is not fit for purpose and is wholly mis-leading in its branding!

I used this on a fireplace and sanding using paper to break the gloss prior to repainting was a nightmare but because this is liquid and is applied with a cloth the prep was a breeze. Very good for what it says. Preparing gloss. you still need sandpaper for smoothing rough areas though

I might as well have used moisturiser as this product had littlle effect. Having applied this twice, leaving it on for hours I gave up and returned the product to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fi Excellent Deglosser
I think deglosser would be a more appropriate name than sander. Perfect for preparing the surface for painting. If you need to totally remove varnish, gloss finish etc then this is not the product for you. I used it on a dark stained, varnished wardrobe that I wanted to paint. After a simple application of the sander the surface was still dark but more importantly it was matt, and very easy to paint. No hassle, no messy dust. Simple!

I used this product prior to painting a varnished table which has 'turned' legs. The finish after painting is very good and the table has been much admired. I did sand off some of the thick varnish from the table top prior to applying the liquid sand.

I used this liquid sander a few years ago and thought it was great. Then it disappeared, I am so glad it is back as it is east to use and a lot less mess than sandpaper.
If you need to smooth woodwork down, then it's back to the old sandpaper I'm afraid.
