The items I required was lenghts of "Holed Strip" to make brackets, there was no stock, so I purchased these, which were more expensive, but probably stronger, and they did the job required.

Excellent, Very useful plate to have in your toolbox.
I made a super support bracket for a outside floodlight. Very easy to bend & shape, no need to drill any more holes if you use 10mm Bolts.

The mending plate was just what I needed to repair an old clock case but it could be used for a whole variety of purposes.

This is a very versatile product - you do not have tio use it flat. You can bend it at whatever point you like to fit awkward angles.
For instance, we had a childs toilet seat which tipped meaning our grandchild felt unsafe. We used the mending plate in such a way that the toilet seat is now secure. We did this by bending a rightangle at about one third the way along, screwing the shorter length to the toilet seat and after padding the bit sticking out it fits between the rim of the toilet the adult seat. One happy grandchild!

At 125mm long this mounting plate was ideal for a job requiring a 12.5cm mounting plate. The drilled holes spaced evenly along the mounting plate made it east to affix a screw through the plate. Just moving the plate until the hole lined up with the screw was ideal. I don't feel comparisons can be made to a corner brace, but I have heard of inexperienced DIY'ers bending a mounting plate to create an inferior brace. I would always recommend the correct product for the job.
