I wanted a powerful jet of steam to blast dirt away, for cleaning tile grout. This product was not suitable for my purposes.

This steam cleaner has an electric cable long enough to reach across most rooms and is a hand held unit that requires 2-handed operation if you want to use any of the many accessories - one hand for the button to release steam and the other to guide the unit or accessory where you need it. You'll need a strong and enduring thumb as the unit only emits steam when the button is depressed. The total steam time is up to about fifteen minutes on a 250ml charge and takes about 3 minutes to get to pressure once switched on. If it spits at you, it's not up to temperature. During use the pressure drop is noticeable if you hold the button down too long, but a pause of around 30 seconds will get you back up to a decent jet. Steam cleaners loosen dirt and grime, so you still need to wipe as you go and repeated use may be required if the area is particularly dirty, or even use chemical help such as a spray of vinegar beforehand on stubborn lime scale. Don't expect miracles and you won't be disappointed - this saves a lot of hard scrubbing, even if you do scrub with the nozzle brushes supplied, but still takes time and can be used on lots of different surfaces. The reservoir cap has a mechanical safety feature that means it cannot be opened until it has cooled down - up to half an hour - so this tool really is only for quick jobs - if you need a lot more grunt or cleaning time, get a continuous reservoir cleaner. It only comes with one microfibre cloth for the floor attachment, and it will get very dirty very quickly, surprisingly so if you consider yourself to be clean. You are paying for the brand with an expectation of reliability and build quality, which is good, but I haven't had it long enough to know if it will stand up to repeated use / abuse. It's cleaned everything that I've thrown at it and gets used weekly. It comes with an accessory bag to store all the various elements and I have had no problems with it so far.
