Rated 1 out of 5 by trisha I can't believe it's not plastic
I bought one of these last week and I put it up at the w/e. The rings are definitely plastic and I'm not convinced the whole thing isn't plastic either. The 'wood effect' can be scratched off - had the same experience as someone else of it jumping off the wall and in so doing the varnish/wood effect, which seems very soft, has chipped! The only sign it might be wood is that the pole is a bit bowed. I certainly won't be buying another one!! If I had the energy I'd dismantle it and take it back.

The pole came well packed with all parts. There was no warning however that the pole is not suitable for anything other than very lightweight curtains
The fixing system is really too lightweight and the plugs supplied were not suitable for hollow walls and the back plate is difficult to align with the screws into the wall.
Also the design of the fixing system relies on the weight of curtains to hold the pole in place. This in turn causes the inadequate plugs and screws provided to come away from the wall. Also if trying to adjust curtains the brackets rise up from the fixing screws causing the whole thing to fall.
In summary had I not already cut the pole to length I would be returning this pole for a full refund

This looks really nice and is easy to install. The trouble is, my curtains are excepionally long and heavy and the fixings weren't strong enough to hold them. I'm awaiting advice on this, but this is a good choice for lighter fabrics

This pole looks the business but the devil as they say is in the detail
The concealed fixing plate screws supplied were the wrong gauge for the predrilled holes in the wooden brackets and I had to replace the screws with slightly fatter ones to get the plates to attach firmly
The bracket itself hangs on a single screw fixed to the wall and therefore with two brackets for this size of pole the whole assembly is resting entirely on two screws fixed into your wall - not an ideal situation if your curtains are heavy as it is asking a great deal of these two wall fixings
This pole is therefore only really suitable for light to medium weight curtains

Rated 3 out of 5 by Paddy Fragile curtain rings
Main complaint is that the curtain rings are plastic, they break easily and the screw-in hooks pull out
