OK, so normally the Homebase own range is good. However, this product fell well below expectations. As soon as I started to (try to) cut a piece of pine beading,I knew that it was about as sharp as a table knife. I have used many differrent saws in the past, but this just did not cut it. (SORRY!!) Even running my fingers along the blade, I could tell that it was not going to be any good. To their credit, however, Homebase immediatly acceded to my reqiest to change it for an "Irwin" saw, which I cannot fault.
So: product, nil points; service recovery, 10/10

Excellent little saw. Very sturdy and great for quick, clean cuts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mojocallin I saw it
A good saw at a good price and a good handy size. I saw other non-professional lightweight saws, like this on "special offer - 2 for 1" for similar price, but do I need 2 saws of the same size and spec. I'm not a preofessional sawer of wood and the second saw would probably rust in time. My previous Homebase branded saw lasted about 15 years eventually breaking due to misuse by me.
When loking for such a tool, ask yourself, what am I using it for, how many times will I use it (per year) and do i need the special offers?
