Rated 1 out of 5 by A Brexit shed How to lose customers #JohnCoombe Chairman Homebase. This shed is so disappointing in every way, The timber is cut to the thinnest of dimensions and consequently it has since I put it up warped and cracked. The main 'structural' (and I use that word losely!!) timber was cracked, we had to make good with steel strengthening strips (which I supplied). The strand board flooring to the shed floor is so thin that we has to spend extra money on buying concrete slabs to support someone standing in the shed. The placement of the hinges so that they have to be surface fixed to the shed is basic bad design!!! The door has since dropped and is out of alignment. I have had to spend as much on extras for the shed to use it as I did on the shed itself. I would like #JohnCoombe Chairman of Homebase to come and erect a shed like this, then maybe he would not specify them!!! Cheap yes but not cheerful. Cough up Homebase refund pls Mr.Chairman #JohnCoombe. 10 October 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Worth the money I bought this Forest 5x3 shed mainly because it was the cheapest and was being sold by Homebase. Excellent comms, kept me up to date. Arrived on time and the driver was really helpful. I erected it by myself and it was a really simple job. It is a good shed - not a great shed.. look at the price .. but a good shed. Only a few things. The door was bowed, which I rectified by putting another hinge at the middle to straighten it and it is fine now. I could have achieved the same by leaving it for a couple of days with a weight on it to straighten it. I chose to add extra L shaped brackets where the walls meet the floor but that was my choice. Other reviews mention the floor not being thick enough .. well, it is only 5x3 and I won't be holding roller discos in there so is adequate for me. I re-proofed all of it before erecting it to give it a longer life - I am 68 so it will most likely outlive me now! One good plus is that the instructions (which are simple and clear) have you cutting the roof felt in half and then overlapping it but when I cut mine in half I found that one half was plenty to cover the whole roof so I have a spare half to recover it should I need to in the future. Glad I bought it and am quite happy with it. 22 September 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by As expected You get what you pay for. It is a shed. However the wood is very thin and easily damaged. This happened in the delivery of it and we did not notice until the delivery men had gone and when we unpacked it. Because we needed it to be put up asap, we have mended it and strengthened it by lining it with spare wood and shelving. On the plus side it was delivered promptly when due. 28 August 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Perfect for what I needed it for and so cheap. 15 August 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product with some concerns This was easy to assemble with 2 people. I don't think it is a one person job. Definitely need a good base. Looks a nice tidy shed when finished. The minus points are- the floor needs 2 extra bearers as it is very bouncy when walking on it. A heavy person could possibly go through the floor as the floor fatigues. I have put in additional bracing to negate this. Floor now feels much sturdier. The larch lap on one of the side panels is very warped giving very large gaps (1"+) This could be an issue if it allows in heavy rain when windy. Only time will tell. I would still recommend this shed as a good budget buy. 20 September 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by As expected This is sold as a 'value' item and that is what it is. It is quite flimsy but it will serve the purpose that it was bought for, I.e. to store garden tools. I only had one problem, that was to get the front door panel absolutely vertical so that the door fits properly. I am still working on this! 12 September 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cheap, needs work. Knew to expect cheap materials due to low cost. But as they must make loads of these I did expect the door to fit without having to cut it down. If you don't cut the door down at least down its longest edge the hinges will not fit and the door won't close which I would have thought was a key part of having a shed with door. Apart from that the only other issue is the rear panel is quite warped causing a gap you can almost put your hand through. That said it is cheap. On reflection I maybe should have bought something better made but I went for cheap and am stuck with it. I treated all the wood with a clear preservative had enough felt to fit a double layer to the roof keeping all the tacks on the underside to stop leaks. So fingers crossed it should at least last for a few years. 14 June 2016
