Fluidmaster Pushbutton Cable Dual Flush Valve is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent & Easy to fit The product is great, variable flow for the flush is a nice touch. I'm an okay DIYer and managed to get the cistern off and fit this. If you don't feel comfortable doing that - give it a go, it's easier than you think!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable and to be avoided This system is not good for the follow reasons. The first one I bought broke as I was fitting it during my bathroom renovation. I was supplied with a free replacement and a year down the line, the smaller flush button broke off. Just recently the entire plastic washer broke too, so I'm now looking for a replacement that I can rely on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works very well this is easy to fit, but as others have mentioned, only after you've removed the cistern since the fixing nut goes underneath the cistern. In my case, I thought it would be easier because I have a concealed cistern, but the outlet pipe still protruded into the base of the cistern slightly, so removing the old fixing nut and putting the new one on still involved loosening the cistern on the wall fixings enough to move it out the way slightly. This isn't a particular problem of this item though - it will be the same for any replacement mechanism. The volumes of full flush and half flush are separately adjustable which is nice. It was definitely worth the effort though, as it works superbly. I also binned the old ball valve and fitted the matching fluidmaster side entry valve. This also works very well. I would also have liked to replace the flush valve in our cloakroom toilet, which is a standard close-coupled thing with a lever handle on the front, but the pushbutton is a lot wider (nearly 50mm diameter) than the equivalent bit of the lever handle, so would be hit by the toilet seat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Very happy with this product. Straight forward to install and works great with no complications. A little difficulty ascertaining if it was the right size for cistern when I was at the store ( could do with more info on packaging with this regard) luckily it was right fit. Good price too in comparison with main competitor (offer on at time of purchase).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT FOR DIY WANTING QUICK FIX! I purchased this item after reading reviews. At the store I carefully read the description details on all packaging visible and noted the bold capital caption "EASY TO INSTALL". Yes it is - if you have the cistern sitting on the floor in front of you! What it does not mention or show anywhere on the packaging is that the cistern has to be disconnected from the WC bowl and removed from wall in order to fix or change it. So not as easy as implied! However, if you are doing a refurbishment job and already have the cistern disconnected then, yes, it is a simple task.! The "Before" and "After" pictures actually show two different scenarios. The first might need to be replaced "Again & Again" but can actually be done with the cistern in place, although replacement is not needed as often as implied. The second shows the cistern after it has been removed, fixed, and replaced! NOT A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD AS IMPLIED.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for novice DIYer I purchased this to replace an old lever flush system on a close coupled loo which was getting difficult to flush. Fitting this unit was a nightmare! The cistern has to be removed from the bowl. Because the bolts holding the cistern to the bowl were corroded I had to drag the whole loo out and saw them off. The bolts were corroded because the seal between the cistern and bowl had been leaking and this had to be replaced. Luckily I have 2 toilets so the week wait for the new seal was not too inconvenient! Having finished the job I then found that the loo lid does not stay up because it hits the flush button. The only way I can think to overcome this is to cut a chunk out of the lid. A lever flush mechanism would be a good accessory for them to offer.
