Product details

SmartFit Telescopic Hedge Shear is a handy pair of garden shears for trimming hedges in both high and low places. For taller hedges, most gardeners resort to a step ladder, but the telescopic feature on these hedge shears give you a little extra edge to reach up to harder to access branches and twigs. Trimming is improved thanks to the addition of a built in extension system that allows you to give full attention to your hedge care with none of the strain.

Fiskars SmartFit Telescopic Hand Shear is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shear heaven I have used these shears to cut a large privet hedge, ivy, tall pyracantha and then to prune a tall forsythia. I am very pleased so far as I can reach just that bit further as they are longer than any other shears I have seen and they are quite light. They cut well. I noticed a slight squeak after only using them for a week so guess they need oiling. I also bought an electric hedgecutter but may return that as I am finding these shears make light of all these jobs so far and no need to get the hedgecutter out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fiskars Telescopic Shears This products cuts exceedingly well but I cannot recommend it because of a design fault. After a short amount of use nuts inside the handles work loose and detach. The result is that when opened the handles can pull right off and can be tricky to get back on. I should add that it can still be used in telescopic mode but you have to guess how far to come out. I took my first shears back after a week but almost immediately the fault returned with the new pair. Reluctantly I have decided to keep the new pair but I cannot recommend them with such a fault.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flawed Design Just as a belated follow up to my last and second review, I did get my first pair of shears replaced, as I thought with no problem from homebase, however the new pair didn't last any time at all. As I found with my first pair the mechanisms for locking the handles into position soon failed, you can just about still use the shears but they are far from satisfactory and could potentially be dangerous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality hedge cutter These shears are really good quality. They are very sharp and cut very cleanly. Used them on Conifers, Beech hedge and Hawthorn with no problems. It's really useful having the extending arms when cutting a wide hedge!
