Speaker wire needs to have some way of knowing that you are connecting a red terminal to the red speaker connector, black to black otherwise the speakers have a 50% chance of being out of phase. So why is there no stripe or other means to tell the wires apart? Just makes a hassle out of something simple.

Was very impressed with the sound quality that was given you by this cable. I used it on my surround sound to get the speakers to the back of the room. This cable didnt cause any problems or lose of quality.

Bought to wire up some rear surround speakers in new house. Did the job ok and tided us over, though the cable is quite thin. Will be looking to replace it with thicker cable at some point

Only a small raised molding mark differentiated between the two wires. Difficult to see or feel in the dark behind units! Better to have a stripe or pattern.

I don't really understand why Homebase have invited me to review their speaker wire but I am deeply honoured and happy to do so.
This speaker wire is indeed grey. I would have preferred British Racing Green but it doesn't matter much because it can't be seen now it has been fitted.
I used it to connect two car radio speakers to one car radio. This task was aided by a clever little ridge along one of the conductors which can be used for identification of the positive side of the feed. This ensures that the speakers can both be wired with correct polarity. This is such a great idea.
It seems churlish to criticise a product for such a minor issue but I would have been happy with a 3 metre length. Having said that, I now have enough left over to wire up four more car speakers if ever the need arises.
