The tin does not provide any clues as to what "soothing white" actually looks like. I was therefore a bit surprised when I opened the tin to find the colour a very subtle shade of soft grey. However I decided to use it and I have to say that I am very pleased I did. It compliments brilliant white walls very well. I like the slight contrast but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting a true white gloss.

My wife and I wanted to paint the skirting, doors and picture rails in our Victorian home drawing room. We did not want a standard brilliant white as this would not suit the room so well. We searched at Homebase in Crawley and 'bingo'. The perfect colour, Soothing White. This not only gave us the very tasteful and unusual colour we wanted but we also found that the paint was very easy to apply! What more could we ask for? Nothing more, the look is perfect. Any tips? Yes, if you want to find the perfect paint go to Homebase.
