Rated 4 out of 5 by Did It Myself A new uses for a cranked hinge
We had to plasterboard over an uneven ceiling on our landing, and this resulted in the loft door being about a cm higher than the ceiling.
To remedy this, we took the old hinges off the loft door, put a 1cm trim around the frame, and firmly affixed the loft door with the cranked hinges. It worked a treat and the loft door is now level with the new ceiling.
I know this is not what cranked hinges are made for, but if it works, why not!
