Decided to use the "Colron Coarse Steel Wool" to help with getting into the moulded detail of a staircase bannister. Applied a paint on paint stripper (not Colron) and left for the recommended time.
Attempted to use the Steel wool to strip the paint, expected the paint to just come off with ease, the wool had very little effect on the paint and got clogged with the paint that it did remove very easily.
Tried the wool on a patch of paint that had been already been weakend by heat gun, and paint stripper but still little effect. Reverted back to sandpaper which although more cumbersome has a drastic difference.
Perhaps better used on large flat surfaces.
