Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best ever purchase My next door neighbours fence had become broken and in need of a repair. He is an elderly gentleman who I hardly speak to. In order to overcome the problem I set about the repair my self. The main upright to which theo panels were attached was broken. I need to add a support to this but how? The solution was simple, put another post up next to it but how was I going to fix this post in to the ground. There was not enough room to put concrete around the base of the pole. After searching high and low I found that a metal spike was available. It was a nice colour but weighed a bit more than I thought it would. Installation was simple. You have to hit it quite hard with a hammer. You should take care to ensure you do not damage the fence spike by putting a piece of wood over the top of the spike before you hit it or you can buy a special tool but a piece of wood seemed to do the job. You do have to hit it several times to make it go in to the ground. Once you have hammered it home I found I had to take it out and put it in again as my first effort resulted in it not going in straight. Once it is installed the wooden post can be fitted an there are holes in the spike that allow a fixing to be put into the wooden post. This is the best supporting system I have bought in ages and I can't wait for my next door neighbours fence to fail again so I can buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality Perfect for putting up a large trellis screen in the garden. Also used them for putting up fencing. Strong and top didn't bend when hit with hammer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and robust Ideal for light applications, these drive into the ground easily with a sledge hammer, and I found I could wiggle it free if I needed to resite it. The box has dimensions a little larger that 2x2" which gives some leeway if your measurements between posts are a little off, and the box has screw holes for you to then firmly secure the post.
