Product details

3M Wetordry Sandpaper is a high quality abrasive paper that is ideal for sanding between coats, fine finishing or polishing metal, varnish and painted surfaces. The silicon carbide mineral is bonded to its backing paper with waterproof resin, meaning that it can be used wet to reduce heat build-up and dust levels. If the paper becomes clogged, simply rinse it in clean water and re-use. The result is wet and dry sandpaper that gives an improved rate of cut, increased life, flexibility and a uniform, consistent finish. The pack supplied here contains an assortment of fine grades to give you a range of choices for different applications or stages of your project. Inside the pack are 4 sheets measuring 230mm x 280mm: 1 x P240 (fine), 2 x P400 (very fine), 1 x P600 (ultra fine). 3M Wetordry Sandpaper can be used on metal, varnish and painted surfaces. Applications include sanding metal surfaces prior to applying primer or paint; sanding between coats of paint or varnish; fine finishing; polishing; burnishing old finishes and feathering fine edges. 3M and Wetordry are trademarks of 3M Company.

3M Wet or dry 9088 Sheet - Assorted - 4 Pack is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is good I used it to polish the edges of some quartz tiles. It worked well but the paper did blunt vert quickly due to the quartz being so hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff Does what it says on the packet. Durable and you can rinse it and keep it wet. Dry sandpaper gets bits in your eyes and lungs, so I don't use it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from As expected I was pleased to find this product in Homebase, as not many stores stock it these days, but I was disappointed that I had to buy multiple packs of assorted grades to get a few sheets of 240 grade, which was the only one I wanted for the job I was doing. Separate packs for separate grades would be better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Different packs desperately needed You need coarser grade - 180 absolute max - to begin preparing old painted surface for new coats - so these packs that only contain one sheet of 240 (the others even smoother) are only of benefit at a later stage of the job. The price is very high indeed, bearing in mind the flimsy paper backing will tear very quickly. Wet or dry is a great innovation from the 1920's badly in need of refinement!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant 3rd time lucky i keep losing the review page. Here we go. revitalising an old wooden cot. I used basic sandpaper, which was dusty and did not work well. While looking around Homebase for baby safe paint i found 3Mwet or dry pack of 4 assorted. I tried it out and was very surprised at how good it was. No dust and with a pot of water and the 3M kept all dust away. It was better than sandpaper. I used it after every coat of baby safe primer/undercoat and then babysafe satin water based paint. My family was very pleased. As cot is now better than new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adaptable product i used this product to sand down the old gloss paint on my door surrounds and bannisters. I chose it because using it wet means no dust and less mess, it really did work, I sprayed the surface to be sanded with a mister and sped through the sanding without breathing any nasty dust. it worked much better than standard sandpaper because once it is clogged with paint you can simply rinse it out and use it again - less waste!
